Henderson’s Trunk or Treat is more than a quick stop for candy: families need a wristband for a timed visit. The city lists the event for Thursday, Oct. 29, at Black Mountain Recreation Center, with decorated cars, a trick-or-treat trail, activities and entertainment. Registration details add the practical pieces—fees, pickup instructions and a time window that differs from the citywide calendar—so check your wristband before you go.

How the event is set up
The City of Henderson describes Trunk or Treat as a walk through the recreation center’s parking lot, where children follow a trail and collect treats from decorated vehicle trunks. The city says the event also includes activities and entertainment, and that a limited number of wristbands are available for each registration time.
That timed entry is the key planning detail. Register through the city’s Parks and Recreation system, then follow the time shown for your wristband. The broader city calendar lists the event from 4:30 to 9 p.m., while the activity registration detail currently displays a 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. participation window. Because the two official listings differ, confirm your assigned time in the registration record or with the recreation center before making plans.
Registration information says wristbands purchased in advance can be picked up at Black Mountain Recreation Center from Monday, Oct. 26, through Wednesday, Oct. 28. Same-day pickup is available only at the event door. Check the city listing for any pickup instructions or changes before traveling to the center.
Tickets, payment and activities
The standard fee shown by Parks and Recreation is $3. The activity record also lists an additional $0.45 fee in some fee cases, for a total of $3.45; children younger than 3 do not pay. Confirm the amount shown during registration so you know the total before checkout.
The city describes the event as cashless and says debit or credit cards will be accepted for day-of transactions. Plan to bring a card if you expect to pay at the door. The city’s registration page also says costume contest details and timing will be announced at the event, so families should not count on a particular contest schedule in advance.
Costumes are encouraged in the city’s event description. The listing says the evening includes a decorated-car candy trail, activities and entertainment, but it does not give a complete activity schedule. Make a simple arrival plan
Black Mountain Recreation Center is at 599 Greenway Road, and the registration record places the event in the center’s parking lot. Give yourself time to park, find the event entrance, and collect a wristband if you are picking it up the same day. If your group is meeting another family, agree on a meeting point before entering the trail.
Keep the event’s age and payment details in mind: Parks and Recreation lists the activity for all ages, children under 3 are free, and the city describes the event as cashless. The posted standard cost is $3, with a $0.45 fee appearing in some registration cases. Your checkout total and wristband time are the most useful references for your household.
Before setting out, review the City of Henderson event listing and the current Parks and Recreation registration information. The event listing shows the larger 4:30–9 p.m. window; the activity detail currently shows 4:30–6:30 p.m. Treat the time assigned to your registration as the guide, and contact the center if it does not match your plans.
For Henderson families, Trunk or Treat offers a local Halloween outing built around a candy trail, decorated cars, and activities at a familiar recreation center. Check the official details, bring the payment method the city accepts, and arrive during your assigned wristband window. |

I’d rather take the kids around our neighborhood on Halloween, but this could be a nice extra stop earlier in the week.
Greenway Road can get busy around pickup time. If you’re going right after school, it may be worth leaving a little extra time.
We’ve had trouble parking at Black Mountain during busy events before. Getting there closer to 4:30 might be the easier choice.
Do families need to register for the Trunk or Treat? I’ll keep an eye on the city listing before making plans.
A 9 p.m. End time seems pretty late for younger kids. I hope the city posts more details about how the evening will work.
Black Mountain Recreation Center is a convenient spot for families nearby. I like having an option on Thursday before Halloween weekend.
