Taiko drums, dance and performances

Organizers have scheduled traditional and contemporary dance, singers, cultural presentations and demonstrations across multiple stages.

A featured taiko presentation brings together seven odaiko (large-drum) performers associated with the North American Taiko Taikai. San Jose Chidori is also advertised in the lineup. Check the organizer's schedule for performance times.

Japanese food, vendors and family activities

Browse Japanese food and merchandise vendors between performances. Crafts, demonstrations and children's activities offer ways to take part beyond watching the stage.

Aki Matsuri means “fall festival” in Japanese. Henderson's annual gathering brings local families and visiting performers together through food, music and cultural traditions.

The city reported more than 17,000 attendees at the 2025 festival. Expect a busy downtown district, especially around popular performances.

Parking and visitor tips

The festival is outdoors and takes place rain or shine. Dress for the weather, bring sun protection for daytime visits, and check the latest schedule before heading out.

The free Water Street Parking Garage is across from the plaza at 235 S. Water St. Nearby access may change with event traffic and street restrictions.

Admission is free, but purchases and certain experiences may have separate charges. If you're interested in sake tasting or seminars, confirm availability, eligibility and any fees directly with the organizer.

Plan your visit!

For final performance times, parking information and event notices, use the official City of Henderson festival page and the Japanese Festival Association of Nevada.

The festival is supported by the Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco and has received a Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendation for its contribution to cultural exchange.

Seven odaiko performers sounds incredible. Does anyone know what time they play?
